Helpful to the Addiction

So we all know by now I’ve got an addiction to book buying probably as much as you do so I wanted to share a little secret that may or may not be in your best interest to know, but screw it, you’ve got to know!

I love reading this one gossip website that usually has the most entertaining comments, sometimes even more amusing or helpful than the actual posts, and their book posts are my favorite! I get such great rec’s from them which is a blessing or curse–I haven’t decided but I’m leaning more towards blessing. Anyway, one time someone left a comment about a website called BookGorilla. Not everyone has heard of it and I bet there are a dozen others out there but this is the one I use so I thought I’d give it a shout out.

Basically what you do is if you have an e-Reader–this is the place to hit up! It has e-Book deals every day and all you have to do is give them an email address, pick out which genres that interest you, check them off, and voilà!! You will get daily deals on what you like to read. Usually I see deals for my Kindle and they’re $4.99 and under. If there’s a new book out that’s good they might slash a few dollars off the regular price but never have a $4.99 and under deal but still…I mean some money off can’t hurt.

While the choices I get are not amazing, amazing, there are times I find gems that I want to read, like my current read Bossypants by Tina Fey. I got it for $2.99–which by the way, I HIGHLY recommend you checking out this book! It’s very funny and inspirational. She’s a fantastic role-model, a real woman which is a nice change from all of the other stuff that’s thrown at us on a daily basis. I’m getting distracted.

Check out BookGorilla and you never know what deal you’ll find in your inbox!

Welcome to the world of “We don’t really need another book but we’ll buy it anyway”

I’m an addict. Yes, it’s true. But what’s great is that I belong to a community just like you! (well you do if you read this)

Books are gems.

They can come in handy if a cute boy comes walking by and asks you what it’s about.

I’ve decided to create this fun blog to post about my addiction. To book buying that is. It’s currently four days before September and I’ve already spent a hefty amount of money on books this year. My rough estimate is $250. This isn’t good. Especially since I definitely need to get my priorities in life straightened out. But the point is I’ve come to understand that I do in fact have an addiction. The people who have library cards–I envy them! I could have one too–I probably do have one around here somewhere. But to me, I have to own the book. If I took out from the library my favorite book, Anna and the French Kiss which I happen to have read four times, I’d have to take it out of the library every time. Now libraries should not go out of business or anything. I just have a problem that I need to have access to that book at all times, dog-ear the pages, and write notes in it whenever I please. You can’t deface a library book, kids. That’s why I buy. And buy. AND BUY!

I’m not sure I know my grand total of how many books I own, but if you can judge by the price I listed earlier, you’ll know I probably own a decent amount. So, with each post I hopefully (crosses fingers) would like to share with you my purchases and maybe you can help me tone it down? ORRRR just get inspired by what I read and then go out and buy it yourself and we can have readalongs on Twitter!!

Much love xo Linz
